Environmental issues are closely linked with spatial planning. Urban and regional developments presently do not account for environmental considerations. Natural Heritage Division has taken the initiative to carry out pilot studies to incorporate environmental considerations in spatial planning.

Planning of Urban Villages
Resolving complex situations where villages in the shadow of metropolitan growth deteriorate into slum like conditions under economic pressures.

  • Developed Environmental Plan For Chanderi town in MP under German Technical Cooperation sponsorship.
  • Planned Reconstruction Plan For Earthquake Stricken Anjar Town in Gujarat as part of consortium.
  • Urban Conservation Plan Chamba, Hp– Urban level conservation of 1000 year old town HP Govt. was Planned
  • Evaluated The Mini-Master Plan for Rural Delhi which covered 800 sq.km. having 200 settlements classified in a hierarchy of growth centers and growth points.

ADB Assisted Project For Up Gradation Of Nainital Lake Precincts
The project focused on up gradation of various architectural and natural features in the hill station. Different nature walks were designed along with signage, utilities and conservation aspect for Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board.

  • Prepared Micro-Area Master Plans For Tourism Infrastructure For 8 Towns In Bihar including areas around Shri Takhat Sahib, Patna; Mahabodhi Temple, Bodh Gaya; and the tallest stupa in Kesaria.
  • Planning of River Front Phase ii (2) of 7 km. long reach along southern bank of Ganga River in Patna has been prepared.

Village Development Plan For Rajodha Village, Morena
Village development plan has been formulated for improvement of social and physical infrastructure facilities to improve living standards in collaboration with MPCON Ltd.
