The project was aimed to conserve rainwater in a region facing acute water scarcity. The management plan focussed on enabling supply of potable water for humans and livestock, regenerating vegetation in the watershed areas such as fodder for livestock, growing medicinal and aromatic shrubs/trees to generate additional employment opportunities, generating income for rural women to prevent migration.
